- How Small Actions Transformed My Life
I promised you that I'd detail my actions that completely changed my life to the happiest times.
Life has its tough moments, but I've found that small actions can truly make a huge difference. Here's my personal journey:
Acceptance & Awareness: I had to first accept and be aware of my struggles. Recognising what I was going through was the first step towards healing.
Support Network: Leaning on my family and friends was crucial. Their support gave me strength when I needed it most.
Rest & Recovery: I learned to listen to my body and resign to rest. Giving myself permission to slow down and recharge was essential for my well-being.
Physical Activity: I started small, just by walking daily, and then added dance and dance classes to my routine.
Nature Therapy: Spending time in nature was a game-changer. The simple act of being outdoors helped me feel more grounded and at peace.
Hobbies: I rediscovered my love for reading; during the business years I focused on entrepreneurial and business books. So now I came back to reading everything and anything. Plus I found a new passion in painting furniture. Transforming old pieces gave me a creative outlet.
Leisure Days: Taking time off to simply enjoy life made a huge difference. From time to time enjoyed a spa day with my so loved daughters and I went on hiking adventures with other people that share the same passion.
Healthy Diet: Eating better was a key step. Nourishing my body with good healthy food improved my energy and mood.
Pets: My dog became my joy and companion, always lifting my spirits with unconditional love. plus listening to my birds chirping was a mindful time too.
Be Present: I made an effort to show up and be truly present at events. This deepened my connections with others. It wasn't easy when I wasn't up to it but it changed things round.
Appearance: Putting effort into my appearance helped boost my confidence and self-esteem. Dressing nicely changes how you feel on the inside too.
Face Insecurities: Facing my insecurities was tough, but each small victory made me stronger.
Set Healthy Boundaries: I started setting healthy boundaries with others. This helped protect my energy and maintain positive relationships. I invited positive people in my life and I distanced myself from the negative ones. I learned to say "no" which is a big thing for me.
Push Boundaries: I challenged myself to step outside my comfort zone, discovering new strengths and abilities. So I went on Tarzan adventure; I can't describe how challenging this was but definitely well worth it, jumped in waterfalls when my fears held me from small jumps previously, went on the nature swing over the rice plantation in Bali and now I lift weights, something I never thought I'll do.
Mindfulness: Meditation and yoga became my sanctuary, helping me find calm amidst the chaos.
Board Games: Playing games with friends became a fun way to bond and keep my mind sharp.
Health: I started taking my health seriously, scheduling regular check-ups and practising self-care.
Routine & Organisation: Structuring my days helped me balance productivity with relaxation. If I detail the things I do you will be amazed but all is possible if organised in your calendar.
Travel: Traveling opened my eyes to new experiences and perspectives, enriching my life in countless ways.
Appreciate the Little Things: I started noticing the beauty in everyday moments – like the rustling leaves and the song of birds.
Dare to Be Different: I embraced my unique thoughts and feelings, daring to stand out and be true to myself.
Journaling: Writing down my thoughts and feelings became a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing.
Self-Discovery: I learned that self-care isn’t selfish. It's a necessary part of personal growth.
Be Vulnerable: Allowing myself to be vulnerable led to deeper connections and a greater understanding of myself.
Each small action, taken with intention, helped me build a brighter and more fulfilling life. It’s a journey, but one worth taking.
18 months ago, I wouldn't think that my life would be like today but i am definitely much more happier than I was and I hope that I am spreading this light around too.
If I did it, anybody can do it. Own it xx
